Well, where shall I begin with my history of Mastiffs...
I began showing Mastiffs in the early 1980's when a friend of mine asked me to show his dog Harley..Champion Lefholz's Handsome Harley..What a lover! Harley went on to sire, Champion Lefholz's Handsome Hoyt. HOYT was a winner from the beginning, finishing at 11 months of age and was in the top 20 as a baby puppy his first year as a special. He was ranked in the Top 5 two years running. HOYT was chosen as one of the Mastiffs that are currently on the AKC standard video for Mastiffs. They loved his head and EARS..short black ears! So he ended up being the EAR standard for the Mastiff! What an honor.
From there, Jim and Terry Hudspeth, ASGARD Mastiffs, asked me to finish their gorgeous girl, Cleo..She finished very quickly and went on to be a great brood bitch that created many ASGARD Mastiffs. Asgard had many great dogs including one of my favorites, Ch. Asgard's Valhalla Freya know as TOOT! She came by her name honestly! Toot went on to be the #2 Bitch in the early 90s.
I handle for IMPRESSIVE Mastiffs, Maggi Ahrens, and Charmed Existence Mastiffs, Pat Ahrens. I was honored to handle Maggi's girl. Ch. Semper Fi Truly Impressive "Alex" to an Award of Merit at the Sacramento Mastiff National. Alex was TRULY IMPRESSIVE.
Mastiffs have been in my life since 1980 and they will always be at the top of the list for my breeds. When you see me with a Great Dane, never fear, there is a Mastiff right there as well.
I have been blessed to show some of the best Mastiffs in the United States. I have finished many Mastiffs for clients and friends. I truly love handling the BIG dogs and will continue as long as my legs will carry me!
